Trusted computation in real world applications is fun. ZKPs maximize theoretical security, but the cost of circuit design and specialized hardware makes many operations impractical today. TEEs are the right engineering choice when the economic value at risk doesn’t justify full cryptographic proofs. Sub-cent and sub-second vs >$10 and minutes to do a simple SQL query for example. This tradeoff will shift as ZK research improves in the coming years.

This approach makes verifiable compute composable. Audit the platform once, use it for multiple applications. Change your code without touching the underlying infrastructure. Verify everything through attestation with a single identifier.
