🚨 DELAYED START (2/6) 🚨 Due to adverse weather conditions, Marquette will operate on a delayed start on Friday, February 6th. Students are expected to be in their first-hour class by 10:15 am and we will dismiss at our regularly-scheduled time.

Today, we remember Dr. King’s belief that education is a powerful force for change. Indiana’s non-public schools play a vital role in shaping students who lead with compassion, courage, and a commitment to serving others. In observance of MLK Day, the INPEA office is closed.

🚨 EARLY DISMISSAL (1/14) 🚨 Due to incoming winter weather, we will dismiss today at 12:30 pm. The Scholl Center will close at 1 pm.

In the current context, we are seeing an actual “short circuit” of #HumanRights. The right to freedom of expression, freedom of conscience, religious freedom, and even the right to life are being restricted in the name of other so-called new rights, with the result that the very framework of human rights is losing its vitality and creating space for force and oppression. This occurs when each right becomes self-referential, and especially when it becomes disconnected from reality, nature, and truth.

In the Mass for the Jubilee of the World of Education, Pope Leo stressed that "the grace of being a student, researcher or scholar means accepting a broad vision that can see far into the distance." The Pope went on to lament that in the modern world, humanity has become “experts in the smallest details of reality” yet struggles to recover an overall vision - one that unites knowledge with meaning. Against this fragmentation, he invited scholars to rediscover the harmony between intellect and spirit, a unity embodied by saints such as Augustine, Thomas Aquinas.
