UDOT will close SR-210 at 12:30 am on 3/22/25. Interlodge travel restrictions for the Town of Alta will go into effect at 1:00 am.

This afternoon's intensified weather and commute times (pardon the pun) are on a collision course with each other. Early departures are recommended today.

If the forecast plays out as expected, traction controls, heavy traffic congestion and delays, avalanche mitigation all possible through Saturday. IF... we get into Interlodge restrictions, we'll be enforcing violations 💯. Reminder, all car camping is prohibited in LCC.

@blablanilxin At the risk of violating my second resolution of not arguing on social, this isn't directed at any type of pass holder. We want all canyon visitors to be aware that we are expecting high traffic volume, poor road conditions, and likely heavy down canyon delays.

Only 3 days into the New Year, and I've blown my resolution not to be a pessimist. Saturday has all the ingredients for challenging road conditions, detours via the Alta Bypass Road, and serious delays. Please equip and plan ahead.

If you're spending the night in Alta, make sure to have your vehicle in a designated overnight parking spot before celebrating. Please and thank you!

Little doubt that there will be congestion and delays heading down the canyon this afternoon. Consider an early departure and have a full tank.

Happens up here more than you might think... Driving APP says there's a road where there really isn't. If you're not seeing Subarus and Tacomas going by, it might be a ski run.
