@nela_soul Doubt it’ll end up as bad as it was top to bottom in 2008.

I don’t get why the Savannah Bananas make people so angry. It’s basically like the Harlem Globetrotters. Don’t think of it like real baseball and just think of it as entertainment. It’s not my thing but I get why people enjoy it, especially kids.

The Savannah Bananas will play their biggest game ever tomorrow night — over 100,000 at Kyle Field in College Station. That’s wild.

The @Royals’ delirious comeback on Sunday inspired me to take a deeper look at all 10 of the 1985 team’s walk-offs. In the latest at my Substack, I recap each one. Enjoy and subscribe!

⚾️📖 “BEYOND THE LAST INNING” IS AVAILABLE FOR PREORDERS AND SHOULD BE OUT BY JUNE! 📖⚾️
For former professional ballplayers, career transitions aren't as simple as switching jobs. Imagine excelling at something since you were a child, having it become your job, and reaching great professional heights as a young adult - then, often within just a few years, having to accept everything you've worked toward is over, and likely not on your terms. What follows is not just the challenge of finding a new profession but of forging a new identity. Through 49 first-person stories of major and minor leaguers, this book gives readers a greater understanding of what ballplayers face when they hang up their spikes.

@nela_soul @kershfax54 When the Dodgers lost one of the home games in the 2025 World Series, I saw afterwards that Victorino was at the game. I thought, “Well, no fucking wonder they lost.”

The time Brian Wilson was a Dodger LOL.
Not that I didn’t support him, I did. But I felt like showering afterwards.
BaseballHistoryNut@nut_history
Do you despise a player so much, that you wouldn’t support him on your favorite team even if he’s a star? If so, who?

It was an honor discussing my ‘85 World Series book with @byAaronFisch on @OnTheNBABeat! From my writing style to learning Missouri history to how a friggin’ video game saved the whole project, we cover it all. Listen and share!

Tough loss for the @Royals. Things were happier 41 years ago today, when the 1985 team began its match to the World Series with a win that foreshadowed their season - including Don Denkinger umpiring the game! Read about it and more in my new ‘85 Series book, “Interstate ‘85”!

It cannot be understated how much the internet owe James Rolfe all the acknowledgement in the world. He basically made it possible for people to make entire careers on the internet.
The fact that Youtube is doing NOTHING to highlight his achievements, is honestly demoralizing.

Today is officially the 20th anniversary of the JamesNintendoNerd YouTube channel. It was created on April 6, 2006. But we began posting to it on April 8. It definitely makes me feel old, but I’m glad to be one of the originators. Stay tuned for a little something special.

Got the 1985 Stratomatic cards and decided to replay the World Series (with a healthy Vince Coleman).
In game one, John Tudor tosses a shutout as the Cards cruise to 3-0 win. Tom Herr picks up a pair of RBI singles, and Cesar Cedeño gets one too.
