Great example of an old Truman, Hanbury and Buxton pub with an exterior to match. Stylishly decorated and very busy, both inside and out. It also has a bit of star quality as Gemma Arterton used to work behind the bar! 2/3

...a large pair of glittery red lips. There’s also a bar stool with its seat a clear foot above the bar. It’s not sophisticated, but it’s fun! 3/4

Still lots of reminders of how it used to look with original tiles and girders and slip-proof flooring to enable the engines to get out quickly. Very busy and noisy with lots of mismatched chairs, some of which look as if they date from the same era! 2/3

Loads of railway-themed posters, paintings and photography on the walls and also a separate room which features the famous Victory Arch and half-moon window, which down below is the entrance to the station. 2/3

Beware though – if you’re there on a concert night be prepared to queue 8 deep at the bar! Previously a Harvester and taken over by Nicholson’s in 2020, the pub is named after the Royal Observatory in Greenwich Park. 2/3
