@Tonysmarkettips Kentwan Balmer needs to replace Kinlaw. Balmer was MEGA TRASH

@Tonysmarkettips To be fair, Todd Kelly played the “elephant” position as an edge.

@CandlestickJas Paying major money for a Super Bowl mvp award is dumb: Desmond Howard and Larry Brown are perfect examples.
He got himself kicked out of that game. Boneheaded play.
He’s a great number 3 receiver. Nothing more.

I feel bad for Jauan Jennings.
Enters the NFL as a 7th round pick making league minimum. Nearly wins Super Bowl MVP in a contract year, which would've led to a major payday, but instead has to settle for a low-end contract extension. Gets ejected in the final game of 2024, robbing him of his first 1,000-yard season. And now that he's finally ready to collect his money, the WR market crashes after 5 years of ridiculous contracts being handed out.

The #49ers NEED to Trade back a few spots, add an additional pick on both day 2 and day 3, and draft D’Angelo Ponds. He’s A LOCK to be very good. You can never have enough tip tier corners. Ponds is great. The #49ers have screwed up their 1st selection way too often during this regime. Be more conservative. Take fewer risks. Go for sure things! This 1st selection track record is horrible.
2017-Solomon Thomas
2018-Mike McGlinchey
2020-Javon Kinlaw
2021-Trey Lance
2022-Drake Jackson
2023-Ji’Ayir Brown
-Nick Bosa is their only for sure hit in 2019 and he drafted himself at #2.
-Ricky Pearsall and Mykel Williams need more time to determine if they are hits or misses.
Get Ponds. At worst, he’s Upton Stout 2.0 and Stout is currently your best young defender!
Nick@RollCoveragePod
The CB D'Angelo Ponds should be a no-brainer for any NFL team: #Panthers #Rams #Patriots rumored to be interested 43.5" vertical jump 7 INT, 33 PBU in 3 years 3.8% missed tackle rate in 25 Right now, Ponds sits ranked 51st on NFLMockDraftDatabase 🧠

Zero young players outside of Ricky Pearsall playing on offense

Sources: The #49ers are signing WR Christian Kirk to a 1-year, $6M deal. Kirk is the latest WR addition in San Fran, after they also signed WR Mike Evans.

@LombardiHimself Can Caleb downs fall just far enough to make a trade up?!?! That’s the question

49ers have now added 3 starters in free agency. All step in to fill an immediate need at spots that had been empty or notably thing leaving 2025...
X WR: Mike Evans
F WR: Christian Kirk
WLB: Dre Greenlaw
Two spots remain where an outsider might start:
LG
S
What Raheem Morris wants at safety remains unclear, as do his thoughts about players like Marques Sigle and Ji'Ayir Brown.
LG seems more cut-and-dry. Ben Bartch visited Detroit today and remains unsigned. The 49ers added Brett Toth in FA, but he hasn't started for a full season before. Connor Colby is still on the team.
Former Cleveland Brown Joel Bitonio is contemplating retirement but might be available...

The Brandon Aiyuk-49ers situation in a nutshell:
- Front Office reluctantly signed him to a mega deal after Kyle made an executive decision
- Aiyuk gets injured in 2024
- Aiyuk didn’t trust the team with his rehab
- Made a mistake choosing not to attend 2025 rehab check-ins
- This gave the team the perfect excuse to get out of his contract
- The team voids his guarantees
- He still reports from July to October and clearly expressed intent to play
- Looked smooth in pre-game preseason warmups
- The team kept pushing his return date down the line
- Once the trade deadline passed, the relationship officially soured and Aiyuk never returned and ignored contact with the team
It’s very likely the team tried to trade him, couldn’t, then shut him down for the season to preserve his value.
If that is true, that’s probably why he left the team — they wouldn’t let him play.
Him not showing up or responding to the team clearly pissed him off, but that was a mistake.
He wants out AFTER the front office did these things, but him doing this is making it impossible for the 49ers to trade him.
His absence hurt any value he had for the team, while also making it harder for him to leave.
I’m not on a side here. Both parties have their part to play in this whole thing. However, holding out for months for a potential seventh round pick seems disingenuous.
Just sever the relationship. Move on and focus on more important things. The team clearly won’t do that because they have controlled the PR and have an image to uphold. I just wish this would’ve worked out 🤷♂️
English

@LombardiHimself Obviously spots aren’t guaranteed, but this feels like the niners aren’t going wr in round one. Pass rusher, safety seem most likely
English

@richjmadrid_ Actions have consequences. Time for him to learn them

This team should not be afforded any goodwill in this situation after it hit a certain point. Multiple off-ramps to avoid it and they just let Shanahan walk all over them to keep him. Just let him go so both sides can move on.
Coach Yac 🗣@Coach_Yac
Which side of the Brandon Aiyuk situation are you on: Keep BA and hope to get a 7th-round draft pick in return The 49ers should release him immediately so he can pick a new team
