What did we make of Ben Thomas at 13? A 1 try, 9 carry, 36 metres gained, 3 defenders beaten, 5 passes, 1 kick, 6 tackles made, 3 missed statline. Switched in and out of 12 a bit with Rory Jennings, personally would perhaps be interested in seeing it again with Steff Emanuel.

Just can't understand how it's not worth even taking a minute to have a look if Rory Thornton is over the line here. Bearing in mind the referee could barely see his hand in front of his face for the rest of the game so his opinion in real time is largely invalid. #BENvCAR

@simonrug What’s confusing about the Dyer situation is they picked him when he was in poor form and now they’ve left him out when he’s found a bit of form/confidence.

@Geglar9 Dyer is the biggest surprise for me. Looking really sharp of late. I also thought Rhys Davies would be on board to add some bulk and physicality at lock. Either him or Jake Ball.

Some of these omissions are really baffling.

@CardiffRugbyWeb Are we too soft on professional players at times when there’s been umpteen changes? I thought our cohesion would be poor and we were playing a good team in tough conditions. I still expected a better performance than that.We struggled with the basics. Maybe I’m just unrealistic.

Exeter 31-0 Cardiff FT A dingy 80 minutes in Devon, just never got anything going with all the changes and a few guys who haven’t played much recently. That’s that one thrown though, all eyes on the big one against Benetton next week with the rested players back. #EXEvCAR

@maybethiseason @CardiffRugbyWeb Didn’t all our tries out in Zebre come from kicks to the corner as well? Or certainly 3 tries did. Like I said I quite like that we tend to kick to the corner but I don’t mind if there’s the odd exception when it isn’t working. Like Friday night unfortunately

@CardiffRugbyWeb Always thought kicking to the corner is a group think thing. Sure, if you fail to score you are still in a positive area but do you score 1 in 3 times? 1 in 3 would be 7 points from a potential 9 - or 5 as the conversion is usually right in the corner. Drags away worked though

I've recorded Cardiff as having 10 kickable penalties on Friday night. From them we earned 10 points via a penalty kick and a converted try. So many opportunities not taken and points left out there.
