Not gonna lie, sitting here crying hearing the Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Act being discussed on the House floor and knowing in this moment veterans and their caregivers are not only seen but heard. Removing the 65%cap is a game changer for those like my family. @DoleFoundation

@davischaosdire1 Definitely, no more ladders! Thankfully he only needed a few stitches

First he fell off the ladder , on the way down he broke our sprinkler system and his ladder. So now 3 stitches and another appointment to see an orthopedic surgeon for his swollen elbow. I told him no more ladders at our age.

He’s the best. He finds opportunities to contribute to our life because it brings him joy. He loves to make the load easier whenever he can. #als #USMC #durhamVA #love #caregiverlife

@soares_meghan 30 inches wide. 44 inches high from the bottom to the top of the headrest. 56 inches deep. We have a new joystick we are putting on and charging the battery.

@soares_meghan Okay. I’ll get the measurements. You’ll need to know how wide the ramp is and the height from floor to ceiling.

@soares_meghan I don’t think there is a model number. I’ll get you the width so you can see it will fit. Do you have an older Sienna? Or a different model?

@MaryHahnWard That’s great! I have heard the VA is wonderful too. We have an older van so I’m hoping the action track would fit. Do you have the model number? I can start measuring

@soares_meghan Oh yes I have heard of it! I’ve heard they are wonderful. I typically use the VA for Tom’s needs. They have been very good the last few years caring for him.

@MaryHahnWard I love that! CCALS is a nonprofit that helps people and their families with ALS. Based out of MA but they help all over the country and even some people out of the county. They can help with equipment, they have the best resources and advice CCALS.org

@soares_meghan It’s fantastic on the beach. When our grands were toddlers they sat on his lap on it. When they got a little older they stood on the back of it. What is CCALS?

@MaryHahnWard Wow! Have you guys had good luck with it on the sand ? That would open up a lot more activities for us. We have a 2 year old my husband wants to take to the beach. Do you guys use CCALS?

@MaryHahnWard This is beautiful. My husband and I live in Hampstead. Where in Wilmington is this? Is that a Permobile chair? We have been looking for accessible beach access since we moved here last year. My husband was diagnosed in 2021 #als

@soares_meghan We have an action track chair you can have. It doesn’t fit in the newer Sienna accessible vans 2020+). It could go on a trailer as well which we don’t have. If you can figure out how to come get it you can have it. I’ll post a video of it.
