Final: A big fourth quarter leads Northwest Whitfield past Bainbridge 45-34 in the girls Class 4A second round. The Lady Bruins are bound for the Elite 8.

Lady Bruins = Region 7-4A champs. Northwest Whitfield snaps Pickens' 21-game win streak, defeats the Dragonettes 36-25 in the region finals. Northwest held Pickens to just six points after half.

Woooooow. Northwest was down 24-20, then scores six straight for the 26-24 win to punch their ticket to the Final Four. Emma Hayes with two great spikes, then Emma Allen with two great plays. An Allen block ends it. The knock off Chestatee in three sets.

Northwest Whitfield defeats Heritage in the semis and again in the finals to earn the Area 7-4A volleyball championship. The Lady Bruins, which reached the state championship match last season, will host Mt. Zion Wednesday in the first round of the 4A playoffs.

Northwest Whitfield volleyball is going to state! The Lady Bruins beat Jefferson to advance to the state finals next Saturday in Cartersville.

Final four bound! Northwest Whitfield wins set three 25-20 to sweep Islands 3-0 in the Elite 8. That's three straight sweeps in three playoff rounds for Northwest. They'll play the winner of Columbus and Jefferson on Saturday.
