Thai military officials have placed barriers in Ban Nong Chan, Khok Sung District, Sa Kaeo Province, blocking the route and road that leads to Banteay Meanchey Province of Cambodia, causing Cambodian soldiers and civilians to demand the removal of the barbed wire fence. This occurred around 2 PM on August 14. However, Thai soldiers insisted that the fence line is within Thai territory which has been encroached upon for a long time. Later, around 4 PM, when the Interim Observer Team (IOT) consisting of representatives from 7 countries - Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, and Vietnam - arrived and surveyed the fence line, a Cambodian woman cried and pleaded with Thai soldiers to open the route, but to no avail. #sakaeo #thailand #cambodia
