My father died Saturday at the age of 81. Phillip Mason never trumpeted his attributes. If you said he was perfect or that his life was extraordinary, he’d recoil. Never would he sprain his shoulder by patting himself on the back. But he was a good man, dad & grandpa. A 🧵:

Baseball is great. The night is perfect. Seeing the two teams I know best is wonderful. Seeing Ronald Acuña Jr. leave the game after pulling up with what is being called left hamstring tightness is not.

And think about this with the Broncos: They saw the draft tilting toward bigger-bodied Y tight ends, with teams prioritizing them. So they took a calculated risk they could get Justin Joly later when taking Kage Casey. And in the end, they got both.
