Full Story of BENCAT vs Snipers Our contract engineer always checks the contract's transaction history before any launch. The original contract address for the @Bencatcoin bonding curve was 𝘃𝘆𝗝𝘆𝗞𝗹𝗢𝗣𝗢𝟵𝗣𝗟𝗴𝗗𝗙𝗕𝗩𝗦𝗜𝗞𝗗𝗟𝗱𝗰𝗾𝗖𝗛𝗖𝟮𝘁𝗸𝟲𝗺𝗹𝗜𝘄𝘆𝗧𝗯𝗯𝗫𝗤𝘄 (let's call this CA1). About 6 hours before launch, He noticed some unusual transactions on CA1. Here are two refund transactions: ao.link/#/message/sGK7… ao.link/#/message/xKhS… The transactions were initiated by the account 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗖𝗶𝗤𝗡𝗲𝗜𝘁𝗴𝗩𝗬𝗥𝗴𝗖𝗺𝟱𝗥𝗩𝗥𝘄𝗲𝗧𝘇𝗖𝗣𝗙𝗾𝗢𝗖𝗴𝘄𝗵𝗾𝗰𝗧𝗞𝗞𝗡𝘀𝗲𝟴 While the transaction format was correct, the transactions failed because BENCAT hadn’t launched yet. So, we redeployed a new contract. The wallet for the new contract was also freshly generated. The new CA is 𝘇𝗭𝗜𝗶𝗝𝗔𝗢𝘅𝗦𝘆𝗵𝟳𝗬𝘃𝗚𝗣𝘃𝗳𝗽𝗳𝘄𝗾𝟴𝗙𝗼𝟲𝘄𝟲𝗡𝟭𝗧𝗨𝗝𝗿𝗳𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗛𝗸𝟯𝘆𝗘 (let's call this CA2). An hour before the launch, we completed internal testing on the new contract (CA2). However, not long after, we spotted abnormal transactions coming through the new bonding curve contract: ao.link/#/message/evks… These transactions were once again initiated by the account: 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗖𝗶𝗤𝗡𝗲𝗜𝘁𝗴𝗩𝗬𝗥𝗴𝗖𝗺𝟱𝗥𝗩𝗥𝘄𝗲𝗧𝘇𝗖𝗣𝗙𝗾𝗢𝗖𝗴𝘄𝗵𝗾𝗰𝗧𝗞𝗞𝗡𝘀𝗲𝟴 So, in the last 30 minutes before launch, we decided to go back to using CA1 for the launch, hoping to trick the snipers into thinking it was CA2. After the official launch, all tokens in the bonding curve were sold out within 1 minute. Upon reviewing the sales records, we found that bots had made most of the purchases, causing heavy transaction congestion. After analysis, we identified that more than 3 snipers had attacked us, ruining the fair launch of BENCAT. To protect the community, we initiated refunds for everyone and are now rethinking the launch strategy. Yes, we made some misjudgments regarding the snipers: 1. BENCAT is the first token on AO to face such an aggressive sniper attack. We underestimated the impact @Bencatcoin would have. 2. The team's preparation time and dev resources were insufficient. Everyone worked almost entirely without compensation, just like any @Bencatcoin BULIEVERS, out of love for BENCAT and a desire to build. Additionally, during our review of the transaction records, we found some interesting things: 1. We found transactions on CA2, which we didn’t use, totaling 121 wAR. This suggests that someone knew about the new CA (CA2) we planned to use 1 hour before launch, but didn’t realize it wasn’t actually launched. 2. After refunding all the buyers who purchased through @ObtimusAI (888 wAR), we found that additional wAR had been sent via incorrect transaction formats. This indicates that someone (a sniper) tried to bot the purchase but messed up the code, wasting wAR in the process. To clarify, I want to correct the data I shared earlier on X: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝘇𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝟭𝟯𝟲 𝘄𝗔𝗥. This came from transactions that either went to the wrong CA2 or were attempts to cheat and snipe using incorrect transaction formats. After reviewing everything and considering that we can't confirm who exactly these funds belong to, we’ve decided to allocate this 136 wAR to the new 𝗕𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗢𝗜𝗡 launch. We’ve been working on a new launch strategy over the weekend. With 136 wAR already secured as liquidity, airdrops will be the primary method to protect the interests of 𝗕𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗢𝗜𝗡 bulievers.
