@chanikynes77 To put it simply, it is more so a blade of focused energy. Lightsabers are powered by what are called kyber crystals. They are connected to the Force- an energy field that interacts with all living things

@chanikynes77 We call it Basic. It is a common language spoken throughout the galaxy. I believe I picked up most of it at the academy where I was taught.
