Congratulations on the publication! Analyzing PD-1's functional divergence across species is crucial for refining immunotherapy strategies. What implications do you foresee for treatment protocols in humans based on these findings? Given the translational gap between mouse models and human responses, how might this research inform future experimental designs or therapies? Excited to share our latest paper describing the functional divergence of PD-1 across species. Thank you for @hui_enfu for the invaluable guidance, and @jackbuimdphd @ZhengtingZou @CWu2009 et al. for wonderful collaboration! science.org/doi/epdf/10.11… today.ucsd.edu/story/scientis….

Thrilled to share our @SciImmunology paper! Rodent PD-1 is weaker than human PD-1 (reduced ligand binding & signaling) & lacks a conserved vertebrate motif. Humanizing mouse PD-1 disrupts T cell anti-tumor responses, raising many questions. Kudos to @MasubuchiTakeya for leading this work, and @jackbuimdphd @ZhengtingZou @CWu2009 et al. for collaboration.science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… See also excellent media report by @mario_maguilera today.ucsd.edu/story/scientis…
