I coded a small web app that creates short descriptions of 🌍 imaginary worlds that trigger creativity and world building for authors, game developers, screenplay writers, and alike ☀️ Currently looking for people to test it with me 🔍 👀 Who wants to take a look at it?

Just been to THE restaurant/bar I always wanted to do. Not close to it, not similar, not just a little different.. but exactly like it has been lurking in my mind forever. What a crazy feeling.

Finding a somewhat cold coke at Munich central station is more difficult than running for president (checked 3 stores and the board bistro). Lovely.

Sitting in the next room overhearing my gf being interviewed for a job. Haven't heard her really talk. She's been repeating mhm and ah and yes for almost half an hour. There are so many bad interviewers out there. It's just crazy.

@mkobach 🍕🍝🍷 How to find out if a restaurant or bar menu will make money, how to conceptualize and tweak it so that it does, and what it has to look like (structure, design) so that it drives profitability while not sacraficing quality and experience.

What’s a niche topic you could give a 45 minute presentation on with zero prep?

⏯ What's sufficient for taking further steps? Send reminders and chat via WhatsApp for 3/7 days. Let testees document whenever they do silly scrolling Then stop communication. After day 7 check the ratio social vs feed. If 3/5 times feed is chosen, I'd call it a raw validation

I find myself opening Twitter & co. too often just for silly and undirected browsing (bus rides etc). More often than not I get this feeling of time not spent well. Oftentimes, I open a book just to fetch a little reference only to catch myself being hooked and deep reading 🧵

👍🏻👎🏻 The test Create the feed after a little interviewing about the reading preferences (genres, topics etc). Set-up the feed on their preferred device and try to find out whether they are preferring the feed over social. Count the times they chose one over the other.

🧐 How I would test the leading hypothesis? Go for strongest evidence! 👉 Create concierge-fed Feed (via Notion) 👉 Find and brief ~ 25 people that fit the profile 👉 Let them do journaling for a week 👉 Do analysis + card sorting w/ them after 👩🏻‍⚖️ Decide based on behavior!

👀 What can be the first steps with this idea? First: Do a little desk research (nothing happened so far)! What is already out there? I bet there were intelligent people who have realized the same 👉 Then do some problem research (e.g. interviews) & test the leading hypothesis

🙇🏻‍♀️ Leading hypothesis: People who enjoy acquiring knowledge but don't read as much as they want prefer feed-based nudges to long-form texts over social scrolling 🚧 Showstopping hypothesis: People prefer social feeds over short-term reading for the engagement/social interaction

What if there was an app that creates interesting feeds of little text snippets from books (highly discussed or bookmarked paragraphs, maybe a little context before and after, easy to browse through, even easier to dive into more)?

@endesignonline Ahhh, that's so cool! Started with some first thoughts and might add to it later. Love your approach 🤙

I’ve been writing chapter three of my book for what seems like FOREVER. And I have 16 chapters to write. I have no idea how long this should take. Doing new things is hard. Having some emotions. 😂😅 Nothing to see here.

Currently doing some work on commitment bias in early-stage founders. From what I see atm academia really isn't too helpful. Some 15-ish papers on the bias vs. entrepreneurs and most of them not covering founders (but sampling managers and students). Am I having a blind spot?

@btux69 @IAmAaronWill This plus the fact that work doesn't stop after. Not trying to be pessimistic but twitter advice seems so lazy sometimes.

@IAmAaronWill 10 pages of quality writing takes at least 20 hours (only if you are already familiar with the topic*). So your advise is to work for less than $5/h? *If you put into account what it takes to get a sufficient knowledge of a topic, it gets much worse.

Do yourself a favour. 1. Open google docs 2. Write 10 pages solving a problem 3. Convert it to a pdf 4. Design a cover 5. Upload it to gumroad 6. Promote it on Twitter Sell 10 at $10 and you'll have an extra $100. No fluff, just pure information.

For all your side hustles this break, remember my project/startup naming rules: - one syllable, maybe two 👉 Stripe - verbable 👉 Snapchat me - easily sayable 👉 Canva - understandable (what it does) 👉 WeWork - promotable (reminds you of it when not used in context) 👉 Lyft
