This is a day many people in Leitrim thought would never come. Finally a memorial is going to be unveiled in Ballinamore to Pte Patrick Kelly and Recruit Garda Gary Sheehan murdered by the Provisional IRA during the rescue of the businessman Don Tidey on December 16th, 1983. The unveiling takes place on the 41st anniversary of their death which falls next Monday.
