Withdrawal effects are likely more common than we recognise and have been described across multiple drug classes (ICS, LAMA, beta-blockers, statins, anti-epileptics, etc). Greater vigilance is needed in both clinical trial design and everyday practice. 📄 thorax.bmj.com/content/early/…

🫁📘 New in Thorax Stopping COPD maintenance inhalers is not neutral. In a post-hoc FLAME analysis, discontinuing LAMA or ICS was associated with a disproportionate early rise in exacerbations, concentrated in the first ~3 months — consistent with true withdrawal effects. 📊👇
