If he had a public job for 34 years, his pension is better than most peoples pay. I don't believe this for a second. Either way, working salary for a Mesa Public Safety employee is between $110,000 and $150,000 a year. If he didn't save up for retirement, including any healthcare costs that go along with it, what the fuck was he doing for 34 years? Blowing his money on hookers and blow? Why is it the middle classes responsibility to bail out all these seniors who made great money their entire professional careers and retired early or "on time"? Maybe he shouldn't be retired if he's relying on subsidies that other taxpayers foot the bill for. Why is anyone retiring if they're still getting any kind of subsidized care? Clearly, if you cannot afford to live comfortably without your working salary, you shouldn't quit your day job.
