@Kieran_B_Sport was achieved by getting to the EL group stage was a far bigger achievement in my opinion. Especially Dundalk nearly getting to the the knockout stages under Kenny. Barring 3-4 teams in the CL the rest of the teams have little European pedigree

@Kieran_B_Sport This was a much bigger achievement than qualifying for the Conference League though. CL was set up so the likes of the Welsh, Irish & LOI teams would have regular group stage football. What has been achieved in the last 2-3 seasons is heading in the right direction but what

@timbcaycgi @gojiramate @Seabree35242571 @KillianM2 Ya it’s a quick turnaround. Huge amount of work has gone into it already. Securing the grant money & getting the plans in place has been phenomenal. It’s intended to have it for the centenary in 2028. Given who’s involved and what’s been achieved already, I think it’s achievable

@MattConlon86 @gojiramate @Seabree35242571 @KillianM2 Thanks for that Matt 👍 Had a quick skim through it there & noticed that the deadlines for legal submissions etc & any adjustments is September 26 at which point the development will be put to tender with a work commencement date of November 26 I think that's unrealistic tbh .

Just got my ticket for Sligo where I'll enjoy a wildly obstructed view on broken seats under a corrugated roof, but this is what we should be striving for I'm told because supposedly the atmosphere is better.

@gojiramate @Seabree35242571 @KillianM2 16 or 17m isn't going to cut it in today's world though not on a development of that size. I honestly hope they manage to get it done would be great for the league but in the timeframe they're talking about & no sign of it to commence it's not happening for 2028

@d_rovers73 It’s the risk that he gets injured/loses form also. Wait until summer and you only get what’s been offered now, because he’d only have a year left on contract. I wonder where all that talk about the likes of Juventus being interested last season came out of. Did seem far fetched

Rovers should have got €5 million for Elding, blah blah blah. The offer from Hibs is all that is on the table. If there was a bigger offer, Rovers would take it. If Rovers don't let him progress in his career they would be slated too. Hard to win......

@MichaelG1875 @TomKilfeather @rosspilcher Sham Rovers finished above Hearts last season & both LOI teams finished above Aberdeen in the Conference Lg this year. Take the Glasgow clubs out & there is little between the standard

Seen a bit of Owen Elding for Sligo Rovers. He’s their best young player but a hell of step up to making an impact at Hibs.

Multiple reports suggest Owen Elding is set to join Hibernian for an estimated fee of €400k. Are Sligo Rovers being shortchanged with that figure?

It's my understanding that Dublin, as it stands, will protest during media duties around their matches. Their game with Donegal this weekend is live on TG4. rte.ie/sport/football…

@CapitanTed @MUFC_BF18 @jeffbarrow81 @DaytrippingRed He’s been giving out about Ferguson since he left United. Doesn’t mean he didn’t want to be involved. As he’s said before himself, he’s not willing to ‘play the game’ which probably rules him out of a lot of things

Roy Keane’s comments and his colleagues around the table’s behaviour on the latest Overlap don’t sit right with me While I can appreciate his thoughts on Jonny Evans lack of qualifications to be involved with the first team, and Jonathan Woodgate, his doubts about Fletcher and the “jobs for the boys” situation currently in the interim situation around the management, his snidey dig at Michael Carricks wife is absolutely unnecessary, the sniggering along at it all by the rest of them was uncalled for too Slagging off someone’s missus is nowhere near an acceptable rhetoric when he’s discussing those involved in trying to steer the ship until the end of the season, coming from someone as respected as he is by us fans

@MattConlon86 He was brilliant for us last year and one of the main reasons we avoided the playoffs in my opinion. Completely different player to the first time he was with us. Won’t say any more on it but saying it was totally different to Malley is definitely wide of the mark unfortunately

@jeffbarrow81 @CapitanTed @DaytrippingRed The problem is that Keane does give off that impression with his snide remarks whenever he talks about Carrick. There’s no issue on Carrick’s part - it’s just the vibe that Keane gives off to me

Late night reflection on the survival season: obvious vital contributions by the likes of Fitzgerald, McClean, Hakiki, Elding, but youngsters Kyle McDonagh and Daire Patton have not let side down when called upon, none moreso than today. 👏👏#bitored

@Davidluke1969 @jimnotleo Galway win their game in hand & Waterford beat Galway then we’d need a win tomorrow plus a result against Shams

Permutations and palpations. This relegation battle as tight as a baldy barber's haircut. You'd hope Derry can beat Shams on Sunday so the hoops need something from Galway on Wednesday. In that event, a win tomorrow night might be enough. Phew. Everything crossed. #bitored
