A million is a megabyte, 250 million is 250MB, being very generous and allocating 10,000 characters per users still just adds up to 2.5 terabytes.

You are all idiots, you think storing all your accounts on servers is free? Should they keep storing accounts for all time? I bet there are tens of millions of accounts that are dormant, people die, for example. Sure, they COULD store your account data for a millenia, but more and more people will start accounts and it'll add up to a point where they will have to keep so many servers alive that they will increase the price tag on everything. If you’re not using it you’re not really taxing their servers or anything and are in fact paying them for it to exist. This is literally JUST a consumer unfriendly policy.
