@einwohner29121 @Mystmin Right? I barely spend any money on arena these days because all I play is timeless. Once you have a mana base and a few staples it’s easy to slowly branch out into other decks. I’d like to play some standard but I’d have to sink money into packs and build full decks from scratch.

@Mystmin But standard is way more expensive than the eternal formats. Just get some staples and your good to go.

on untapped it says over a 2 month period it has recorded: 570,000 standard games 81,000 explorer games 25,000 historic games 20,000 timeless games so why are the numbers for historic and timeless much lower?

@LeviTheGiant @Rebell_Lily We have a variety of eternal 60 card formats for this exact reason, people want to play different power levels with different lists of legal cards. No reason EDH couldn’t be the same way. It would honestly get me more interested in EDH as a format overall too.

I'm hoping this banning event will create another format that is officially recognized as cEDH. Ban Reserve List and others for EDH, reserve those for actual cEDH. (I'd also ban silver borders in cEDH, reserve those for the more casually chaotic EDH) Allows the "chase rares" used to sell sets that aren't well received to still retain a value and give it a draw. Also keeps casual tables from getting pub stomped by someone who just spends significantly more multiples of money on the format.

This is spectacular. Right on the money. Whoever wrote this absolutely understands our popular culture.
