Changes to the 3rd at MVGC include tees being shifted to the right and a green complex with revised bunkering and contours. Learn why some of these changes were necessary and what issues the team faced while working on the 3rd.

Standing on the 4th tee, it’s difficult to see the significant changes to this hole. The green sits nicely into the hill with a putting surface that’s now the largest on the property. Learn more about the new 4th, including some challenges the crew faced during construction.

After debating some changes to the landing area, the focus shifted to the green on this par 5. The new 5th green is approx. 3,500 sqft. and sits back and to the left from the original green site. Learn more about the changes to the 5th hole at MVGC.

The 6th at Muirfield Village is where it all started. Before the last putt of the 2020 Memorial Tournament fell, the team was already removing sod from the 6th in order to meet some firm deadlines. Learn what @chadmark614 remembers about the 6th.

A new bunker complex and tighter landing area will challenge players on the opening hole at MVGC. Once in the fairway, the approach will be to a new green which is about 25 yards back from the original green. Listen as @chadmark614 provides more detail.

Shifting the member tees to the right opened up the view of the hole from the pro tee and offers members a tee shot which plays away from the hazard. Minor tweaks to the green include a runoff area on the front left. Learn more about the new 2nd hole at MVGC.

As Chad told me, the plan for the course is to increase the speed, firmness, and rough height each day this week, with a peak next week during the Memorial. The weather is hot for Ohio and we are playing a bit of defense as we begin this week.
