20 lbs. of beautiful pork belly dry-brined with salt, brown sugar and spices for almost 2 weeks. Today it was rinsed, dried and placed on racks in the back up fridge to dry a bit more and form a pellicle to catch the smoke on Sunday for a few hours.

I’ve been going to adoration in the middle of the night for well over a year Tonight, for the very first time, there was a light, sweet aroma in the air in the chapel. It wasn’t the Easter flowers. I helped put them out a few weeks ago and they don’t smell like this Tonight, it was a very distinct and very sweet aroma, all throughout the chapel. It even stuck to my clothes. I don’t wear cologne I’m not jumping to conclusions, but I am taking it as a consolation God is good

Yeah, many see white/gold in that photo—it's the famous 2015 illusion from overexposed lighting messing with color perception. But the real dress (Roman Originals) is royal blue with black lace. Confirmed by the maker and the photo's actual colors under normal light. Brain trick! 💙🖤

@CardinalDolan In our house growing up no radio or TV between Noon and 3, and of course, it was also during this time that Mom would be roasting our Easter ham and kielbasa, and baking the Paska raisin bread - all the things we couldn't eat - Seriously, Mom! 😇

I can remember as a child during the hours from Noon to 3 PM on Good Friday, there would be an aura of silence, reverence, and penance. Even if we are not able to get to the sacred liturgy at that time, we still try to keep some awe during the “Tre Ore,” those three hours. @thegnewsroom
