Chef Daniel Boulud's iconic Michelin-starred flagship restaurant has an incredible main dining room and is truly a memorable experience. Our menu included Seafood Fricassee, Hampton Bay Monkfish, Scharbauer Ranch Beef Striploin, started off with delightful amuse-bouche, and finished with amazing desserts by Executive Pastry Chef Shaun Velez. Attended the inauguration of Skarstedt’s new Chelsea gallery, featuring the opening reception of the new solo exhibition KAWS: Day by Day. Born in New Jersey and now based in Brooklyn, KAWS started his career as a graffiti artist, worked as a freelance artist for Disney, and has become one of America's most influential contemporary pop artists, notably for his iconic Companion character. His latest collection is notable for its distinctly textured appearance, the result of a hand-painted technique that mimics the effects of spray paint and calls to mind the Pointillism of the late nineteenth century. When I was a kid, I used to go to the library and look up information about people in Marquis Who's Who, the 125-year-old biographical publication. They sent me a video of Warren Buffett telling a similar story about how he developed his love of reading.
