We lost one of the greatest rock producers of all time last night the great @unkleremix Jack Douglas. His work with @aerosmith @cheaptrick and John Lennon was some of the greatest recordings in music history Jack and I became friends in the 1990s when he stopped me on the street on Broadway outside of MTV. I had already been his fan since I was a 12-year-old boy. He helped me through some difficult times which we both got to the other side of.. spent quite a bit of time together in the 90s I saw him shortly before my stroke It was always so great to see him-we actually went to see Joe Perry do a solo show at the Roxy together a few years back. We will miss this amazing man. Thank you for the music Jack.

Two years ago this weekend at Rockville in In Daytona Beach, Florida with the always amazing Dave Grohl and @timmontana love these guys!!! my future son-in-law and family went this year. Maybe my schedule will allow me to do it next year obviously I missed last year because I was recovering.. but we’ve had many great years and festivals there with @dannywimmerpresents @foofighters

Here with my mom and my sister, Colleen in one of the last pictures we took together when my mom’s health was better- She passed away this year on the 4th of July. We all miss her every day. I loved her very much, of course. This is our first Mother’s Day without her.. so to all the moms in your life that are still here and doing well. Let them know you love them every day.. not just today but every day. And all you moms hope you have a special day..

I love Griffith Park so much because every day that I hike I reminded how beautiful the mountains and the outdoors and nature are it’s such anincredible thing to be in the center of. Just gotta keep moving and I’m slowly getting a little faster, but I gotta say that there is still no feeling on that right side, but I will continue to work around it and never give up trying to regain more feeling and ability no matter how long it takes you never know the doctors and scientists don’t even know, but you can’t blame me for not losing faith that anything can change at any time-for better or worse, but I promise it will not be for lack of trying.

@mattpinfield Matt, I had spinal surgery 15 years ago to remove a tumor. I had no feeling on my left lower half of my body. I’ve gotten it all back. Don’t quit fighting.

This picture taken from behind last April when I was still learning to walk again literally. Every day I still live by this rule proceeding with 1 foot in front of the other. I woke up today, which is a good thing. Remembering Gratitude is an inside job..

Another shot from that incredible day a year ago where I had the honor of hosting the unveiling of the star for my dear friends in @greenday on @hwdwalkoffame. My first appearance in public after surviving the stroke.

It was so great to spend the morning with my old friend and our amazing leader @tomfrestonunplugged who was #not only the chairman of @mtv but oversaw @nickelodeon @comedycentral @vh1 @cmt @tvland and all those iconic networks as well as becoming the CEO OF @Viacom.” he has done so many amazing things and has had such an effect of my life and the lives of so many others that I can’t begin to touch on the impact worldwide that he has had. He is a hero of mine for being one of the greatest examples of following your own path proving it’s OK to do things unconventionally if that’s what works for you and to follow your heart and take chances when you can. We were catching up on our lives and talking about the incredible trip-to Brazil we took back in 98. if you get a chance and want to read an incredible book pick up a copy of Tom’s memoir or you can listen to it on audible titled “Unplugged”

It was one year ago on Friday that I had the honor of hosting the Hollywood walk of fame ceremony for my brothers in @greenday when they received their star. What an incredible day it was. @hwdwalkoffame

Congratulations to my daughter @maya.pinfield for graduating yesterday with her MBA and I know how hard you worked for this- we are all so proud of you here she is with her mom and grandma yesterday.

Running through the Mountains of @griffithpark even for short periods of time is a challenge for a man with absolutely no feeling in his right leg and that is a triumph. To some degree i have always realized everything takes work Some things never return, but a positive attitude makes a major difference. I will never give up working on things getting better if we listen to the what the doctor originally said, they never expected me to even walk again We proved them wrong. So keep in mind we all have good days and bad days. But I’ll be damned if I’m gonna ever stop trying to get all my abilities back there’s so much I can do and I’m kicking ass with everything that I can. don’t let anyone tell you something is completely unobtainable. Keep up the fight.
