Every night, @PeelPolice officers make a difference in our community. Last night was no different. This illegal firearm which included an extended magazine and fully automatic switch was seized by our STEP team after a foot pursuit. The STEP team is a specialized unit focused on combating violent crime by targeting illegal firearms, street gangs, and high-risk criminal activity. This work would not be possible without the support of @TeamKerzner and @ONsafety. Thanks to our STEP team and all of our officers for keeping illegal firearms out of the hands of violent criminals and making our community a safer place for all.

We lost Cst. Artem “James” Ochakovsky while he was serving our community 16 years ago today. His courage, dedication and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Today and always, our thoughts are with his family, friends and the @PeelPolice members who had the honour of serving alongside him.
