@rockybalbowie @FootyonNine @CalTwomey It’s only matter of time before a club goes back to the player and says that they can’t get him due to the price. They’ll get the player to pull a JHF, or potentially an Eli Manning. Clubs and players could also blow up the whole draft by challenging the AFL’s restraint on trade

@MattTHFC1882 @The_PrenderCast 9 and 11 on the night were picks 15 and 17. Interesting how 9 and 11 are the numbers you’ve thrown up here however. Pre bids 9 and 11 were traded for 21, 25, 27, 30, 46 and a future 2nd. 21, 25, 27, 30 were used to match the bid.

@The_PrenderCast Carlton aren’t getting fucked. They are just not gaining the significant advantage others were gifted. And they took Harry Dean last year with the old rules at pick 3. They are still getting access to a player that wouldn’t be available at their pick - still an advantage.

Which is probably the most capital invested into a key defender ever, draft or trade, barring Jacob Weitering who went pick 1… If Cody goes 1 this year, we’ll need to have pick 5 and 11 to match a bid.

It’s been clear for a long time that Voss has been swimming against the tide relative to the rest of the AFL landscape
