@evelien_degreef and I wrote a follow-up piece at @ConversationCA about this work. It was great to write more about the context surrounding bowhead whale and narwhal genomics. theconversation.com/commercial-wha…

Excited to share our latest paper in @GlobalChangeBio! 🐳Here we examined bowhead and narwhal genomics and the legacy of commercial whaling: dx.doi.org/10.1111/gcb.17… Collabs w/ C. Müller, @MattThorstensen, S. Ferguson, C. Watt, M. Marcoux, S. Petersen, @ColinGarroway

Thanks Madison :) Nice conceptual diagram! Yes Luke started the project and did the experiments, we just did our best to make his work shine.

And thank you @evelien_degreef for the drawings! They're small in the figure, but I love the detail in them.

New review paper out! Many freshwater fish need conservation help, and movement research can be important for supporting that help. But can we conduct integrative movement research with non-lethal sampling? 1/6 frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

Super excited to see one of my master's chapters published at the Journal of Avian Biology! In this paper we studied purple martin population genomics and natal dispersal in North America.🐦🧬 doi.org/10.1111/jav.02… @KevinCFraser @kedelmore

@jenjeffrey02 I guess neither of these papers are thermal regulation, but instead about thermal adaptation. Sorry about that, I happened to be reading about them this morning.

@jenjeffrey02 In a cod of the same system, one of the antifreeze glycoprotein genes actually codes for 46 peptides. So one transcription event = 46 mRNA copies for AFGPs I think. Not comparative, but also cool IMO (pun *intended*). pnas.org/doi/abs/10.107…

Hello twitter animal phys friends! Have any fun examples to use for a 3rd year comparative phys lab paper discussion on thermoregulation?
