Any new project has to go through the whole process again. It may be 10 years before a new project is even considered. The $700 million will go to other communities and projects. All while traffic on I-77 gets worse. 160,000 vehicles use 77 a day and this part of 77 has a crash rate 2.5x higher than the statewide average, per DOT

Communities across our region made it clear that they wanted a genuine voice in the process, not a process with a pre-determined outcome. Six of us intentionally voted in support of the rescission, and I thank my colleagues who stood with the community and recognized the importance of restoring public trust in this process. 🚨 Why the Dalton Eatherly (Chud the Builder) Petition matters for Thursday’s bond hearing: Over 500 signatures in <24 hours shows the public is watching this case closely. We’re delivering the petition + hard data to the court, DA Nash, Judge Poland, and defense attorney Jake Fendley before the May 21 bond hearing. 
The data is damning: •Eatherly’s $1.25 MILLION bond is 5X higher than the highest murder bond under DA Nash. •30.8X higher than the average attempted murder bond. •Defendants with violent criminal histories routinely got $2,500 – $250k bonds. •Eatherly has zero prior felonies. This directly violates the letter of TN Constitution Article I, Section 16: “Excessive bail shall not be required.” 
Public petitions + supporting documentation can be submitted to the court and brought up at the bond hearing. Defense counsel can present it. The Clerk can make it part of the official record. Judges are allowed to consider community support, public interest, and evidence of unequal treatment when deciding bail.

While the announcement today was not expected, it is not a surprising to insiders that Mayor Vi Lyles is stepping down. Privately people close to her expected her to step down as mayor either this summer or in the fall. She stopped attending rezoning meetings. She has been delegating ceremonies. She ran in 2025 in large part because of the sales tax referendum. She wanted to see that through.

Charlotte is a shit hole. Several baseball families were down there last summer, we all stayed in same hotel. Every truck got broken into, if you had a gun it was stolen. Along with a broken window. I was the only one, I was driving a Tesla and I had a .45 in a console.😂 The hotel staff, said it happen 2-3 in previous month.
