A big thanks to all of the authors and reviewers who contributed to this issue! Doctoral training is foundational yet less focused than other levels of clinical neuropsychology training. It was a joy to work on this special issue and highlight so many voices and perspectives.

The issue closes with a commentary and a friendly call for other neuropsychologists to consider careers as doctoral faculty. Doctoral faculty uniquely shape the field through admissions and mentorship, and this career is deeply rewarding despite real but manageable challenges.

I’m excited to share that a special issue of the Journal of Clinical and Experimental Neuropsychology (tandfonline.com/toc/ncen20/47/…) focused on doctoral training in clinical neuropsychology is now available.

It also addresses how doctoral training is structured and delivered, as well as how trainees are prepared for the profession and the future of the field. This includes advocacy and leadership training, career development, and the central role of research training.

The special issue brings together work on key challenges shaping the doctoral training pipeline and trainee experience, including early exposure to the field, international trainee issues, burnout, and trainee satisfaction.
