The next stop on the journey. Thrilled to share that I’ve accepted a sports anchor/reporter job at WMC Action News 5 in Memphis. I’m pumped to join a legacy station in Tennessee covering all things Grizzlies, Tigers, and much more in the Mid-South.

Hana Haden was able to retain Memphis native Daejah Richmond, who led the Tigers in points, assists, and steals last year. She scored 13.5 PPG while shooting only 20% from 3 on the season. Haden says that long distance shooting is gonna go way up this year. ⬇️

Found this from May 2024. Jordan Walker had just been sent down to Memphis after hitting .155 with no home runs in the first 20 games of the season in STL. Never complained. "I think reps is always good." Took a while, but he figured it out-and now, he's a HR Derby Champ.

JORDAN WALKER WOWWW Those magenta balls had everyone in the blender all night. And he hit FOUR IN A ROW with the ENTIRE stadium against him to win it. That was incredible. Really happy for a great guy, what an awesome HR Derby.

Covered Jordan Walker when he arrived in AAA in Memphis. Covered him when he got sent down to Memphis after struggling in the big leagues. Always a great guy throughout it all. Really cool to see him on this stage and having the season he is, well deserved.

The whole point of the Home Run Derby is to admire the absolute moonshots the best hitters on the planet hit. The old timed format didn’t allow for that at all, the next pitch was out of the hand before the ball landed. Going back to this style of format is already a W.

The Grizzlies have announced Cam Boozer has officially signed his rookie deal. As the #3 pick, Boozer's ceiling on the contract is $53 million over four years. A formality now out of the way.

Great to have new Memphis WBB coach @CoachHanaHaden stop by the studio. She took Georgia Southern from 10th in the SBC preseason poll to a regular season title last year. Is that possible in year 1 here? "I think anything is feasible...our goal is to max this team out." ⬇️

Cam Boozer is gonna be awesome. Caleb Wilson is also gonna be awesome. There’s no reason to worry about who’s gonna be better after *one Summer League* game. We won’t get that answer for years. The Grizzlies got a dude, enjoy it. Also an important PSA at the end. ⬇️

That’s a pretty big loss for the Redbirds. Madris has been awesome this year, with 14 home runs and a .908 OPS. No spot for him on the big league roster so he’s headed to the KBO.
