Some quick thoughts on this game. • Cotton was obviously incredible; just a special shot-creator and shot-maker. • Nick Rakocevic is a hell of an x-factor for the 36ers; his 3 O-boards in the 4th were huge. • SEM’s 3rd Q was solid: 10 OFF in the quarter, led by John Brown III. SEM had 13 more FGA than Adelaide. • Combined 13/41 FG (4/21 3PT) from Sobey and Clark; tough to win with that efficiency. • Early foul trouble to Foxwell and Brown III stifled SEM’s flow. Angus Glover was a great spark (14 points, 4/6 3PT), but no-one else on the perimeter was able to score with consistency and efficiency. • Huge Matt Kenyon game: +9 in his 10 minutes. Elite 2nd Q, as POA defender on Sobey. His D helped facilitate Adelaide’s running. • Speaking of: 19 fast break points for the 36ers. They don’t usually play with pace but did it well tonight. • Zylan Cheatham’s 2nd half was really impressive. He played with more force, leveraging the SEM’s ball pressure to get on the rim. Had 13-9-5. • It was enjoyable being in here for the 36ers’ first glimpse at a Cotton playoff heater. • Poorly officiated game, I thought. Refs fell for countless flops, and couldn’t officiate physicality, particularly during rebound contests. It’s the playoffs.

The Adelaide 36ers take Game 1 of their semifinals series vs the SEM Phoenix: a 104-97 win on the back of 42 points from Bryce Cotton. A real MVP-type performance; 17/25 FG, 6/11 3PT, only 2/2 FT. Game 2 is on Saturday in Melbourne.
