Now that the first day is officially in the books, allow me to introduce myself… Excited to announce that I am the next Preps Coordinator at The News-Gazette (@ngpreps) in Champaign, Ill. I’m thrilled to continue my career with the fantastic team already here. @APSE_sportmedia

Lyle Burns successfully defends his title at the 97th Twin City Golf Tournament to go. Burns took the lead on Hole 9, then had to hold off the 18-year-old Benson down the stretch. Birdies on Hole 17 and 18 secures the 202 (-12) score and back-to-back title.

Benson’s birdie streak ends at six-straight. He’s tied with Burns at -10 with two holes to play.

The final round of the Twin City Golf Tournament is almost wrapped up at Champaign County Club. Reigning champ Lyle Burns (-10) leads with five holes to go. Dan Patkunas (-8) and Forrest Benson (-8) rounding out a tight group. Benson (pink shirt) has birdied his last four.
