No harm in gathering more data What time of day do you prefer for the men’s AFL Grand Final?

So far, it looks as though it's significantly easier to predict which games of men's AFL will be boring than those which will be exciting

@AflGlicko You might want to have a look at the scales package and then add labels = percent to scale_y_continuous()

Claude has suddenly started ending every R script with a call to sessionInfo() I dearly want to know who does this and writes enough R code to be a Claude-influencer

@JamesBland_Econ @SgtButane @anniedundun Although there is an argument that the market has already priced any (dis)advantage in, in which case using a predictive model that does not include days rest should give some clues

@SgtButane @anniedundun Although that being said, 2ppts*7 days = 14ppts, which is a huge advantage if we get a team with a 2-week break playing a team with a 1-week break. But still not particularly statistically significant, and really I should be doing something fancier with the standard errors.

@maxlaughton They switched the lid just before they threw it to frame their mate in the seat next to them. Just classy through-and-through

@MatterOfStats This obviously doesn't take into account the tone and speed of speech at the post match press conference, nor the Monday night talking head group think assessment that takes years to change.

Interesting results that tend to confirm that Exciting isn't the opposite of Boring Worked with Claude to measure these two characteristics separately and the survey identifies the most Exciting and the most Boring (which isn't the least Exciting)

@michael_timbs @qualiascript The research is pretty clear that hyper-partisanship is equally prevalent on both sides of the political spectrum. More generally each side's understanding of the other's viewpoint and rationale are equally poor.

@MatterOfStats @qualiascript More tautological opinion. The “right” definitely do it too, but to the degree they do I would say they’re engaging in a leftist framing

being right-leaning and high openness is so funny. "this is one of my favorite musicians, i disagree with everything they stand for, highly recommend"

@qualiascript I've always just considered the act of viewing everything through the lens of politics to be inherently left-leaning. So being right-leaning is in itself enough for this.

@AflGlicko Are you also going to start using '.' rather than ',' as the thousands separator, as many European countries do?
