Christianity in Iran is nuanced, even under the current regime. Let me clear up a few things: On the one hand, anyone born Christian, Armenians in particular, are mostly left alone and given several privileges such as their own venues and shopping alternatives. They can even buy and sell pork and alcohol within their own community legally, which is impossible for anyone else. I've known Armenians in Iran all my life, and I've seen how much they're allowed to do that I would never be allowed to do. It's not even comparable. I don't say this with any resentment since none of us chose this regime, but it's absolutely a fact. The regime views Armenian Christians as a harmless minority, which is why the mullahs are fairly hands off towards them compared to all other minorities. You'll never see the regime be this tolerant or comfortable with Jews or Baha'is or atheists. HOWEVER, muslims converting to Christianity is where the "tolerant islamic republic" argument falls apart. Doing this will get you executed. No ifs or buts. You get executed. It's a life of paranoia and attending underground churches in fear of being exposed. Sharia law dictates apostasy will be met with the death penalty. This goes for all muslims converting to any other faith, or even just leaving islam. Furthermore, promoting Christianity in public or daring to question the islamic regime in any way puts Christians in the same firing line as everyone else, because the mullahs hate us all equally. They are a death cult at the end of the day. Pretending like the regime in Iran loves Christianity is nonsense, although it's not as black or white as some people here seem to think either. They do publicity stunts now and then, mostly just to manipulate Westerners, and they generally get along with Armenians. That doesn't make the mullahs pro-Christianity, otherwise they wouldn't literally murder converts.

The new metro station happens to be next to an Armenian church in a district where many Armenians live. This doesn't prove that Khamenei's regime "loves Christianity", it's just an easy way for them to do international PR by pandering to this particular minority group.

One need not have an extensive knowledge of the deposit of faith to be devout; but must rather understand in essence the main principles of our faith and preserve them, never deviating from them and subjecting one's life to them.

To be a Catholic is to live by the teachings of the Sacred Scriptures, the Twenty-One Ecumenical Councils, the writings and professions of faith of the saints, the teachings of the Church Fathers, the encyclicals and pronouncements of the Popes.

Catholicism is not only a religion; it is a way of life. It is a mentality absorbed and practised over time. Our religion is not a religion of the book. The doctrines of the Church are not found in one place only.
