I am featured in this article commenting on how #ApoE4 genotype status and sex seem to impact the benefit and risk of #Leqembi treatment. The future of treating #Alzheimers disease is developing a personalized medicine approach to care - incorporating factors like sex, genetics, and more, into one’s treatment regimen. Anti-amyloid antibody drugs are a start to this future becoming a reality. While they are certainly not a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, they can be thought of as an important addition to a tool belt, that will hopefully one day be full of a number of different drugs, that will work in tandem, in unique combinations, to fight Alzheimer’s disease. A one size fits all approach can and should not be the goal. Great explanatory article by @AmandaKrupa !

The @US_FDA has approved a drug to slow the progression of #Alzheimers disease. Here’s a look at what’s known about #Leqembi and what lies ahead in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. care.com/c/what-is-the-…

Communication is multi-modal, including both speech & gesture. Many patients with left hemisphere stroke have impairments in both domains. Research in the Cognition & Action Lab at @MossResearch is helping us understand how gesture impairment (limb apraxia) impacts communication.

@lvolpic @MichaelOkun Sample size is pretty solid. If nothing else study highlights the power of VA data resources. Lots of info locked in that DOS database!

@MichaelOkun Incidence of PD Camp Lejeune 0.33%, incidence at Camp Pendleton 0.21%. Difference is significant but is it meaningful? When I look at data actual data I see most people did not get PD.
