I think we all need to take a moment and reflect on the great sacrifice that Lindsey Graham made today. The nourishment that his soul provided to McConnell is why he’s able to live another 20 years and serve in the senate to help bring about the end of days.
Jake Sherman@JakeSherman

MCCONNELL releases a photo - and statement. “To my fellow Kentuckians –    “When you elected me to a seventh term and made me our Commonwealth’s longest serving Senator, you did so trusting that I’d keep showing up to fight for you every day. And over the past several weeks, Elaine and I have appreciated both your well wishes and your honest questions about what was keeping me away from the Senate.   “You all know how folks of my generation often hesitate to share the vulnerability that comes with growing older. Even in the public eye, I feel that same instinct – I can’t help it.   “But at the same time, I’ve had more than my share of experience with physical vulnerabilities. Surviving childhood polio meant spending my entire life with mobility challenges. They haven’t exactly gotten easier to manage with age. And last month, I took a fall which landed me in the hospital.   “My doctors have confirmed that I didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didn’t have a heart attack or a stroke. I don’t have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital. While receiving excellent care over the past several weeks, I’ve also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia.   “I can assure you that I’ve been a good patient. At my age, I tend to do what my doctors tell me to do. I’ve submitted to every test they can think of to help figure out what caused this incident. And I’m continuing to do everything they ask to speed my recovery. In fact, with signs of continued progress, I’ve been able to move from hospital care to a rehabilitation center where I’ll keep regaining my strength.   “As much as it frustrates me, this process takes time. And on the advice of my doctors, I won’t be able to return to the Senate floor to vote quite yet. But rest assured that, in the meantime, I’m not taking a break from the Senate business that matters to you. I’ve been working closely with my legislative staff on current issues, and with my Kentucky team who help me provide timely constituent services across our Commonwealth. I’ve also been keeping in touch with my Senate colleagues on the appropriations process, midterm politics, and everything in between.   “You’re right to expect your representatives to work hard for you. And part of my decision to retire at the end of my term this coming January was being honest about the demands of Senate work. But I still have unfinished business to complete on your behalf, and I have every intention of finishing the job you elected me to do.   “I’ll keep working hard to get back on the Senate floor as soon as possible. And I’ll keep you posted on the progress of my recovery. Until then, I’m so grateful for your prayers and well wishes.”

When I heard about Senator Graham’s death last night, the first thing I thought about was not all the things he said and did in service of Donald Trump. I thought of the time before Donald Trump when he was a brother to Senator John McCain. A time when senators from different parties could fight about politics and still be friends. A time when a conservative Republican from South Carolina could say of my father: “If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person, you’ve got a problem. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in politics. As good a man as God ever created.” That is the Senator Graham I will remember today. Not because I have forgotten what came after. Because in that memory there is hope. Hope for a country where brothers can fight like hell over policy and still share a meal, and a laugh, and the loss of the people they love. I will choose to remember the time before Trump. Because I believe in an America after Trump.

Sick and tired of his stupid audience coping that he isn't anti-Ukraine, as well as suicidal naivete of libs and lefties who think he isn't malicious. His position is exactly the same as it was in the infamous clips he tried to distance himself from: A) "Cry me a river, Ukrainians were part of russia, historically russian land" B) "Too white to care" aka we ain't brown and we aren't fighting against Western imperialism but against russian, which Hasan does not oppose. C) "Ukrainian lives under occupation won't change that much, I am not worried" - this, was a monstrous lie Hasan allowed unchallenged on his platform. In reality, russians are prohibiting all and any expression of Ukrainian culture, language, mass rape, tortue, deport, imprison and kill Ukrainians in occupation systematically, settle russians there instead of the people they killed or deported, proudly announce on the state level that they will have to exterminate 30-50% of the population to cleanse us and make sure we ain't a threat and what is left in occupation is russification, terror, isolation and degradation. Hasan knows this, it was brought to his attention many times, he just doesn't give a fuck. D) We gave peace a try dozens of times but russians throw our people in the mass graves, proceed to daily massacre our civilians, bomb children with cancer in a hospital and as well as 1000+ other medical facilities, destroy our cultural heritage, record videos of decapitation and their human safari in Kherson aka the most well documented targeting of civilians by hunting them down with drones. And, of course, reject any peace deal that wasn't utter capitulation that includes disarmament of our forces and giving them the East and South, more than they were actually able to take, with zero guarantees from anyone that this will prevent them from attacking again. "No harm in this" indeed 🙃 E) He also lies, of course, about Ukrainians wanting to capitulate, absolutele majority of Ukrainians (75%) are against territorial concessions with no proper security guarantees. And 52% are just plain against any ceding of land. Hasan doesn't care what Ukrainians want however, he has an agenda to push. F) Give this advice to Gaza, you absolute fucking cunt 🙂
yeet@Awk20000

Hasan offers advice to Ukraine on what to do about Russia "Give peace a try..there is no harm in this, all wars end with treaties..do it now when u have more leverage" "Give peace a try -> capitulate to Russian imperialism" - chatter "Omg I'm gonna d*e..it's happening again..u think the situation right now is worse for Russia than it is for Ukraine?” “Dog there's no world where 18% of Ukrainian territory has been taken over and de facto annexed by Russia that is a better position for Ukraine as opposed to Russia..now the majority of Ukrainians are in favor of ceding territory in exchange for a permanent cessation of hostilities"

Stop saying “F*ck ICE.” Tell us your plan to reform it. Stop saying “Free Palestine.” Tell us your pathway to achieving a lasting peace. Stop saying “Medicare for All.” Explain how you’re actually going to build the coalition and persuade enough lawmakers to pass it. If candidates who campaign on slogans instead of governing continue to win primaries, then it’s no wonder Donald Trump is president again. Something has gone wrong in our politics. While many Democrats focused on governing, media spaces were increasingly dominated by outrage pundits and political entertainers. We normalized some of the most deplorable voices and shifted the Overton window toward post-liberal politics. Challenging institutions and questioning the status quo can be healthy and progressive. But, we should always ask who benefits when public trust in every institution is eroded. Remember, not everyone trying to tear something down is interested in building something better. Our adversaries are laughing because, in today’s America, experienced legislators are expected to answer to online personalities and oyster farmers whose entire political program amounts to repeating slogans. The Biden administration didn’t have to chant “Free Palestine” to pursue a two-state solution, increase humanitarian aid, support Palestinian self-determination, oppose Hamas, and apply pressure on the far-right Israeli government. The Obama administration didn’t have to abolish immigration enforcement to pursue immigration reform, expand protections for immigrants, and explore practical ways to improve our system. The Clinton administration didn’t spend every day campaigning on universal health care. Instead, it focused on economic growth, deficit reduction, and policies that contributed to greater financial stability for many Americans, while pursuing health care reforms that ultimately fell short. Could Democratic administrations have done better? Absolutely. Every administration leaves unfinished work. But people who dismiss decades of incremental progress as meaningless while offering nothing beyond slogans are not interested in offering solutions. America is not perfect, but it is a great country. Its strength comes from electing representatives who understand that governing requires responsibility, coalition-building, compromise, and results, not political entertainers selling snake oil, repeating catchphrases, or turning politics into a reality show. Be gone, @grahamformaine. You’re every bit as disgraceful as the people who stood by your side and still, to this day, refuse to take accountability for the lies they’ve fed to Americans who still believe in our democracy!
