I've heard "everyone misses on draft day" a bit this week. If that gets added to the list, here’s where we are at with the Winnipeg Jets: - Can’t draft and develop because, well, everyone has misses! - Can’t attract high-end talent in Free Agency - Can’t make big trades because of NTCs Tough spot to be in! It's incredibly important for the #NHLJets to be a draft and develop team. This isn't new information. And with the cap rising to levels the Jets are unlikely to spend to, that importance is only going to grow. Everyone has misses. That is true. But we need to acknowledge that the misses hurt more in this market than it does in others.

In his attribution of 'roles' for the World Cup, Julian Nagelsmann has divided the squad into 3 categories: 1- Guaranteed starters 2- backups 3- players still uncertain of making the World Cup squad 1- Nagelsmann so far decided on 9 guaranteed starters: Oliver Baumann in goal, Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan Tah, Nico Schlotterbeck and David Raum in defense, Aleksandar Pavlović in midfield, Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala (if fully fit) and Kai Havertz in attack. Serge Gnabry was initially planned as a Musiala backup, but with Leroy Sané and Jamie Leweling failing to clinch the last spot in attack, Gnabry is a candidate to be a starter at the tournament. The second midfield spot alongside Pavlović is between Goretzka and Nmecha (if he recovers in time for the tournament) 2- The second category consists of players who are almost certainly guaranteed to be at the World Cup but are planned as backups: Nübel, Urbig, Rüdiger, Anton, Brown, Groß, Woltemade, Karl, Undav, Schade, Thiaw, Füllkrug (Nagelsmann wants a target man in the squad) 3- players who are uncertain to make the squad: Dahmen, Stach, Vagnoman, Stiller, Führich, Ouédraogo, Mittelstädt, among other names Nagelsmann adopted this concept of 'roles' from Gordon Herbert, who led Germany's basketball team to their first World Cup title in 2023. He already used it at EURO 2024. The goal is that everyone knows their role and gets familiar with it before the tournament starts Nagelsmann: "We had a role discussion with every player. Every player knows exactly where they stand." [@BILD]

Der FC Bayern hat Trainer Julian Nagelsmann freigestellt. Zu dieser Entscheidung kamen der Vorstandsvorsitzende Oliver Kahn und Sportvorstand Hasan Salihamidžić in Abstimmung mit Präsident Herbert Hainer. Nachfolger von Nagelsmann wird Thomas Tuchel. 🔗 fc.bayern/PM240323_

Scheyer will get zero heat from the Duke administration, which is appropriate because he has crushed it overall. But fair or unfair, the tournament choke narrative is now something he will have to wear until it changes. He’s not the first and certainly won’t be the last.

Duke's last four losses: Led by 14 against Houston in the Final Four, lost Led by 17 against Texas Tech, lost Led by 13 against UNC, lost Led by 19 against UConn in the Elite 8, lost They only lost 4 games in a year, but all of them were from blown leads. Worst way to go out.
