The Brexit Derangement Syndrome is off the scale at the moment. Reform (formerly known as the BREXIT PARTY) just swept to victory across working class areas. Response? Oh, it’s obviously time to rejoin the EU… Do these people even believe in democracy?

To the working class voter that hasn't gone to the polls in an election for twenty years, Reform offers the perfect middle finger to an establishment that doesn't give a shit about them. It doesn't matter what Nigel said at school and if the left can't grasp this, we will fail.

@CharlieM2024 Our ability to communicate is the issue, the workers rights bill for one is an amazing achievement but nobody knows about it. We just need to rethink our policy strategy and get a true overarching story to go with it.

@MatthewWest2004 Fair enough I think the idea Labour is getting too London-centric is borne out by some of the local election results too

We are gonna see the end of Labour in its heartlands if we continue to push the narrative of the EU being the magic cure for our issues.

@CharlieM2024 It’s a massive factor in constituencies in the North East like where I’m from. 2019 proved it with the shattering of the Red Wall by Johnson and it still comes up on doors. It’s what our priorities are and if we can no longer speak to our traditional base then what is our party.

@MatthewWest2004 Is it really true that we drive voters to Reform when Labour talks about Europe The only reason I ask is because if is true then I feel like we're just stuck either losing people to Reform or to the Greens/ Lib Dems (since presumably some people do want to talk Europe again)

If the leadership changes it changes but Keir can certainly continue but he has to change our policy strategy. We need to get back in touch with the working classes and empower them economically and politically.
