🚄🇪🇺 A faster, more connected Europe is on track. Today, I presented the EU’s new high-speed rail plan, set to deliver a truly European high-speed network by 2040. 🛤️ #CEFTransport will finance the completion of the #TEN_T and advance our transition to cleaner, greener transport. 🪖 CEF Transport will also support investments for military mobility that are ten times higher than the current budget! ⬇️

What’s different about the most ambitious and dynamic EU budget yet? 👊 Double the transport funding for double the impact. As part of the Connecting Europe Facility, transport infrastructure funding will increase from EUR 25.8 billion to EUR 51.5 billion from 2028 – 2034. ⬇️

Today, we are one step closer to delivering Europe’s promise of a modern, sustainable and resilient transport network.   💶 Nearly 2.8billion€ in EU funding from the Connecting Europe Facility has been allocated to 94 projects from across Europe.   These projects will boost cross-border connectivity and efficiency from north to south and east to west – in addition to strengthening competitiveness across the continent.

Commissioner @tzitzikostas held an Implementation Dialogue 💬 with industry stakeholders on high-speed rail. To make safe, clean & attractive high-speed 🚆rail connections a reality, we must reduce the time and cost needed to build infrastructure and standardise rail products.
