On the recent events at Cake Group and @bake_io: I'll start with a simple thank you - to the people whom I've worked with and has helped in various parts of the journey. These are great people and I truly hope from the bottom of my heart that they find a great next chapter. Lay-offs are always difficult and sad, whichever manner we slice and dice it. Has deep impact on people's lives, and my heart goes out to those who have been affected by it. I have the utmost respect for the people who were - it is almost never a reflection of their value or their work. What I can say for certain is - every single person I know of still wearing the Cake hat in any form, is deeply committed to supporting through the transition and help in whichever way that's possible. Business go through hard decision points. However, at the end of the day we're all humans first. I hope that whoever is reading this, if you're in a position to help and hire, please do consider reaching out out to the great staff at Cake who were let go. @DFX_Swiss As a long-time customer, I find this unfortunate. Comms is poor, though. It would be better to name the real reason for discontinuing this service. If you were making a good profit with it, you would hardly take this step.

DFX discontinues commitment to the DeFiChain DFX is holistically discontinuing its commitment to DeFiChain. This includes, in addition to the communication already suspended for months, the DFX DeFiChain Wallet already removed from the App Stores and, in particular, as of now, the FIAT On-Ramp and, probably as of December 31, 2023, the Fiat Off-Ramp. DeFiChain was a project for us with the clear goal of building a truly decentralized community and blockchain. We honestly believed in this vision and tried our best to work towards it. Unfortunately, in our opinion, we have not achieved this goal and currently see no chance of being able to achieve it. Besides Cake, there are only LOCK and DFX on the base layer and unfortunately no other significant companies that have successfully built something. This, in our opinion, makes the vision of a truly decentralized DeFi Blockchain with a diverse ecosystem not realistic. This decision follows a long decision process and has not been easy for the team. The DeFiChain was the base on which the team had found each other. With a lot of hard work and dedication, a very good product was created for our customers. The exclusively positive feedback on DFX's service has always been our driving force and we are very grateful for the trust placed in us. As previously communicated, DFX continues to focus on creating an outstanding buying and selling experience as a payment provider for the cryptospace, focusing on Bitcoin, Lightning and Ethereum, as well as Layer 2 solutions. The DFX DeFiChain wallet will continue to be available to all existing users who have already installed the app, as it is a non-custodial app controlled by the user. DFX's off-ramp service is expected to remain enabled through the end of the year. On-ramp for DeFiChain will be disabled effective immediately. Any purchases made will be automatically returned. LOCK, as an independent company, is not affected by this decision. Customers of LOCK can still access their funds at any time without DFX using JellyWallet. DFX does not have and has never had any business relationship with CakeDeFi. Please note that neither DFX nor DFX employees would ever ask for your seed phrase. Never share this with a third party.

@DEFICHAIN_EPIC @julianhosp @defichain I assume Tommy has good intentions. I see your and others efforts to mediate and moderate. But giving space and stage to so obviously false narratives and harmful ideas leads IMHO exactly to this division you actually want to avoid.

I don't think people who are open to Tommy's idea are pointing fingers or trying to stop you. We all want DeFi Metachain to be great and your commitment to that is admirable. I would very much like the problem to just solve itself through DeFi Metachain. However, just as I assume you have only good intentions, I believe others want the same with their approaches. I don't want the community to be divided, I want the best solution to the dUSD problem and an even better dToken system on Metachain (along with 100 other projects). I very much respect your commitment to this, as well as that of many others. #DeFighter

Do NOT fall for people trying to convince you that either U-Zyn or myself would support a haircut. It is also not necessary. If such people want to do a DFIP, do it. If they want to fork @defichain, let them. That's all fine, it will garner 0 traction - otherwise, just do it. Do not get scared by their bluff. Stop letting attention seekers with no merit get you scared. Real builders, build utility, that increases the value. That's what will make this community win in the longterm. And that's what we are doing. LFG! #MetaChain

@DeFiChainInfo We need to get out of our limited "nerdy" view. The real growth will come later via (hundreds of thousands of) people who invest rather smaller amounts in projects via native CeDefi Apps, platforms or algos. Topics like NI, algo-ratio, DFIPs, vaults, etc. will not exist for them.

@DeFiChainInfo Furthermore, my investment thesis is entirely intact, a) I see that we are constantly working on improvements, and b) I don't believe that the main growth will come through native blockchain users but through CeDefi. Most "insiders" don't understand how scaling in a GTM works.

Someone writes an 18 page .pdf and all that gets attention in the timeline is the idea of "cut off" instead of addressing the facts around the topic.🫠 But hey. I like to share these words! #Retweet
