@DavidM359527435 @Yt1Sanimate Matt's view on personally killing was hardly rock solid in DD seasons 1 and 3. It was Karen who helped pull him back from the brink of killing in cold blood and now he's returning the favor. When one starts to crash the other acts as the counterbalance.

@DavidM359527435 @Yt1Sanimate I'm the first to complain that Matt and Karen need longer scenes with deeper dialogue, but his motivation to entreat Fisk did not come out of nowhere. He was shaken by Karen and she is emblematic of what is happening to the city.

@MattsNetiPot @Yt1Sanimate But it actually comes out of nowhere. These two haven't talked or Interacted this whole season. Matt just shows up. Since Vanessa died Matt and Karen haven't talked about it. It's not mentioned here. They're convo in this scene is actually pretty hollow

@MattsNetiPot @SnoopyToast_ He randomly turns up somehow knowing fisk is there. Gives him a dumb ultimatum. " Let's leave" fisk says no. They fight knowing Matt won't kill him. Matt then just leaves. The scene makes no sense they just wanted them to fight.

@NathonusBenz I have no idea, I liked him in DDS2, but I don't follow the Punisher. Other CB characters have no kill rules, I don't understand why this precludes growth as a character.

@MattsNetiPot Didn’t he already, with Russo? Besides, Frank was always meant to contrast the likes of Matt and Spider-Man. The day he stops killing is the day he’s dead.

@NathonusBenz Would you consider it growth for Frank to second-guess killing? Dropping a baddie off at the nearest police station instead of a bullet to the head?

@MattsNetiPot I’ll agree, I’m more of a Punisher guy, but like, I feel like Matt hasn’t changed much since we met him. If he continues on his no-kill streak, then he just simply won’t evolve as a character 🤷‍♂️

@SnoopyToast_ @MattsNetiPot what makes matt an interesting character is his inability to end conflict permanently, he has to find another way beyond killing. sometimes its a strength, lots of times its a flaw. he wouldnt be matt murdock if he didnt so this 🤷

@NathonusBenz It's not an excuse if he really believes in his faith. I'm not saying this snarkily at all because questioning the no kill rule is legit, but Daredevil isn't necessaryily for everyone, especially if your thing is putting the bad guys in the morgue.

@MattsNetiPot The point is kinda moot when we’re talking about Kingpin. Matt has tried for a decade to bring him to justice and it never works. Everyone agrees Fisk needs to go, but so long as Matt plays the Catholic card, he has an EXCUSE not to. It feels less like justification, more excuse.

@MattsNetiPot One of my critiques for this show is this scene. Matt knew Fisk wouldn’t give up. It’s Wilson Fucking Fisk. So… why go there to plead a truce? If Matt were smart, he’d take out Fisk for good. I know, the whole “no kill rule,” but it’s getting tiresome.

The world where on top of being a vigilante Matt's a Catholic lawyer who believes in mercy & redemption. He doesn't want anyone else to die because of their fight and his conscience wouldn't allow him to not at least try to find that small piece of goodness. #DaredevilBornAgain

@MattsNetiPot Aside from trying to give Fisk a chance he's also not perfect, Matt's an idiot sometimes, maybe he just wanted to beat the shit out of him 🤷‍♂️

@SnoopyToast_ You're kind of shooting the messenger, anyway, because whether or not you buy Matt's rationale for being there isn't the point. To act like his motivation wasn't explicitly stated is a prime example of what happens when you watch while scrolling.

@SnoopyToast_ You may not like the idea of Matt Murdock having a merciful side but mercy is the theme, and it's what he's offering when he makes this appeal to Fisk to end their war. It doesn't matter how futile, for his own conscience he has to at least try to stop the bloodshed.

@Yt1Sanimate I Very much doubt it. He's making a desperate plea to end their blood feud after watching Karen go off the rails. In S3 he had Vanessa to hold over Wilson's head, and now he only has the memory of Vanessa, but he can't say he didn't try.
