I have been obsessed this month with the release of the fully unabridged audiobook of Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, but especially because @CaptainEhud is reading it, the only person I have ever heard absolutely NAIL a Luke/@MarkHamill match

Me: I feel stuck and uncertain on how or what to do to push to the next level of getting myself VO work and I feel like I'm failing at this Also Me: (takes my Adderall for the first time in over a month) ...well, that was certainly step one

@JordanJamesVA Depending on style and budget, when I first switched to XLR I went with an Ars Technica AT2035 Condenser Mic when I wanted to have a bit of a warmer quality to my voice, and a SyncoMicD2 shotgun mic for doing commercial and technical reads. $150-$200ea but well worth it

HEY VOICE ACTORS! At some point I will need to upgrade my microphone. I'm using a USB mic for now and it's servicable for my certain position, but when I am able to, I will be upgrading to an XLR mic. Any recommendations?

@PattiKnoxVA I upgraded from a Solo to an SSL2 a couple years ago. I have loved it a lot because it feels like it gives me a bit more specific control over my gain levels, as well as a more stable signal

Ok. I want to start saving up for a better interface. Right now I have a Focusrite Scarlett Solo Studio. What do experienced folk recommend?

@BigBenVa1 For me, I’m currently part time in VO and full time at a day job, so there’s that, plus a circle of good friends I’ve had for a while. Where I’m struggling is getting into the VO community circles online to be more active and present

Hey Voice Actors, Most of us do our VO from home, right? How do you guys stay sane while essentially working by yourself most of the time? Where's the social interaction happening?
