But when we talk about the very top-tier attackers, it’s not just about being good for the team it’s about individual dominance and he doesn’t have that The best strikers of a generation take over seasons. They win Golden Boots, stack up individual awards, and separate themselves clearly from everyone else. Compare that to Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski, and Luis Suárez players who didn’t just contribute, but dominated. Multiple top-scorer awards, historic goal numbers, seasons where they were undeniably the best. Rooney had moments. Those players had eras. So when people elevate Rooney purely off nostalgia, it needs balance. He’s a legend of the game, no question but individually, he never reached that consistent, season-defining level that separates the great from the undeniable elite.
