Was Jade (Diamond pre-S3) when I first benchmarked my aim, only got Celestial Complete hundreds of hours and sleepless nights later.
There are parts of aiming you simply cannot automatically know off spawn. Can we please forever stop parroting this falsehood?

Aim isn’t hard work btw. It’s all genetics. You can not earn good aim.

alright alright matty has decided to make his rounds on deadlock twitter this time and is being bashed for it so i'll defend his honor a little bit
first off, this is not an objective tier list of how hard a character is to pick up.
this is matty's personal opinion on how impressed he is with each characters skill expression when he watches/gets killed by/whatever. you SHOULD disagree with it because it is such an subjective take. i personally disagree with a lot of the placements because i have my own biases.
his placements are unconventional but they aren't rage bait, matty is an aimer, he practiced this one specific skill so much he's undoubtable surpassed any pro player from any esport in this one skill. so when he puts mina and infernus at the top he's not thinking about nox nostra or dash infernus, or the guy new to shooters and has mediocre aim and still gets lots of value out of the character, when he sees good tracking he's impressed.
its hard to be impressed with macro play on a micro level, there's not really anything to clip or point to, when lash gets a 6 man ult you dont know if he giga brain set that up of more likely he got lucky with an unaware enemy team. you dont see the thought processes behind it, so the impressiveness comes from being top ranks, winning tournaments, general understanding of the game rather than character micro which is what this tierlist is about

Deadlock tier list based on how much skill each character takes.

@Nostalgia_FPS I will say though some of aim training’s greatest scores will not exist if one tricks didn’t dump all their time into farming one thing, so there’s also some value there if you just enjoy a category that much.
English

@Nostalgia_FPS The issue with one tricks is that they ignore the fact that the categories bleed skills into each other. It’s part of why you see players like Azure or Viet so strong in everything because the skills they use in one category transfer to the other.
English

@Fenr1r_27 @8eiges People just love twisting my words when I've made it so crystal clear how I view skill in games, I'm pretty sure it is an ego thing by them.
English

@Shakey_aim More like I can concede that someone who values game sense more than me has equal degree of validity in their takes as my own, because skill perception is exactly that-- perception through one's own lens.
You can't actually claim I'm belittling people, so now you will run away.
English

@Matty_OW Dude I’m not gonna sit here and go back and forth with you, it’s clear you’re not gonna see anyone’s perspective but your own. You talk to everyone like they’re beneath you and it’s clear no one else’s opinion registers as something to even be considered in your head.
English

@Matty_OW @blocky_alice @ToastedBacon4 They're not specifically studies on that matter ofc, but what they prove is that unlike mechanical skills, which are more linear and hence easier to learn, cognitive skills depends on way more variables so their learning process is inconsistent. Guess which is harder.
English

@Killbot_exe @blocky_alice @ToastedBacon4 The 3 studies you linked do not confirm the claim that mechanical skills (specifically aim) improve faster than decision making.
English

@blocky_alice @Matty_OW @ToastedBacon4 Here u go. All of these prove how mechanical skills can be improved in a shorter span compared to the brain's decision making (especially under pressure). link.springer.com/article/10.100…

English

@Shakey_aim I’d like you to show me where I have actively belittled someone for disagreeing with my thoughts on skill. Be specific.
English

@Slumpherrr @Matty_OW @Killbot_exe @ToastedBacon4 again, what wins the game most often is not what's being measured.
mechanical skill needs more practice and is more expressive than macro. it doesn't mean it's what's going to win you the game necessarily, but the difference in skill expressed is greater.
English

@Matty_OW @Killbot_exe @blocky_alice @ToastedBacon4 having better aim only does so much in a game where aiming doesn't really matter that much, this isn't Overwatch, your aim is not the core of your skill or your ability to carry or be useful.
it's almost like centering yourself around a single skill is really dumb and foolish.
English

@Slumpherrr @Killbot_exe @blocky_alice @ToastedBacon4 Except when people have, they have gotten better aim so idk what else you want.
English

@Matty_OW @Killbot_exe @blocky_alice @ToastedBacon4 No it's just because the things you are saying is just absurd, it's silly, it's illogical even, and it's why so many people are collectively dogging on you for these terrible takes.
like it's impossible to take some of the things you are saying seriously.
English

@Slumpherrr @Killbot_exe @blocky_alice @ToastedBacon4 You know what I’m going to start saying someone is trolling me whenever they say something I don’t understand or agree with too.
English

@Matty_OW @Killbot_exe @blocky_alice @ToastedBacon4 You actually have to be trolling there isn't a single way you are a real person, these are not real things you're saying.
English

@Slumpherrr @Killbot_exe @blocky_alice @ToastedBacon4 How do you judge “point and click” well? How do you improve at it? What muscle groups are being utilized? What angles/situations demand wider pivots? Oh, and how much tension do you allocate? How does this interact with your strafe pattern?
All things you see as a given.
