Let’s honor Maura today, and every day forward, by living in contrast to the cruelty, resentment and hatred that has taken such a prominent place in our society and our world. There is so much that can be done…if we always remember…only love can conquer hate.

For Maura’s family and those closest to her, this is the most difficult of days. Yet, though it doesn’t make us grieve or miss her any less, we should be heartened knowing that the irrepressible humor, joy & humanity that characterized her life is here for us whenever we need it.

11.2.2021 - Three years since we lost Maura.  But her light, her laughter and her love will never leave us.  Her legacy of care and support for others lives on in every life she touched.

Today is Maura Binkley's 24th birthday. Much like my son, she was stolen from us during a hate and rage induced shooting in Florida. We will never forget her, all those we have lost, and all the parents of children lost to gun violence fighting to make our country more fair.

These are not just terms related to an abstract agenda as some would have us believe. We can assure you, as too many others can, that all too painfully…these pathologies are all too real.

March 4th… Today is Maura’s 24th birthday. The last March 4th we were able to celebrate with her was her 21st. Her life was stolen by an unspeakable crime of misogynistic, white male supremacist cowardice and hatred before she reached her 22nd.
