Bahzad Yazdani and Romina Khazali Arrested by IRGC Intelligence Agents in Shiraz On the evening of Saturday, 28 March 2026, IRGC Intelligence agents conducted multiple raids on the home of Mr. Bahzad Yazdani and Mrs. Romina Khazali, a Bahá’í couple residing in Shiraz and arrested them. IRGC Intelligence agents first introduced themselves as police officers investigating a “thief on the roof” in order to gain entry to the home of Mrs. Khazali’s elderly parents, after which they compelled them to contact Mr. Yazdani and ask him to return home. On his return Mr. Yazdani was arrested, and later, after his wife and children had arrived, agents confiscated electronic devices, including laptops and mobile phones, belonging to the family and their guests. The following day, Sunday, 29 March, approximately ten agents carried out another raid on the couple’s home as well as the home of Mrs. Khazali’s parents. They conducted an extensive four-hour search, confiscating religious books, photographs, and digital memory devices. During this operation, Mrs. Khazali was arrested, in the presence of her children, and transferred to an undisclosed location. The actions of the agents created an atmosphere of fear and intimidation, leading the couple’s young son, who has a history of respiratory illness, to suffer an anxiety attack. The agents also interrogated the couple’s 14-year-old daughter. The whereabouts of Mrs. Khazali remain unknown, while Mr. Yazdani has been detained in Adel Abad Prison. As of the time of this report, no information has been released regarding the charges against Mr. Yazdani or Mrs. Khazali.  However, during the search, agents claimed the arrests were related to “membership in the Bahá’í faith.” #Bahai #Iran #Arrests #Imprisonments #BahzadYazdani #RominaKhazali

Borna Naimi, a 29-year-old Baha’i in Iran, and father of a three-year-old, has endured at least two mock executions, electric shocks causing severe burns to his feet, and other forms of torture, since his arrest on 1 March. His treatment raises concerns regarding the intensification of the persecution against the Baha’is in Iran—the country’s largest non-Muslim religious minority.

Hamed Mehrabkhani, a Bahá’í citizen from Qazvin, was arrested on February 18, 2026 (29 Bahman 1404) after security agents, reportedly affiliated with intelligence services, raided his sister Zhaleh Mehrabkhani’s home in Tabriz, where he was staying. During the raid, agents searched the residence and confiscated personal belongings, including mobile phones and laptops belonging to him and his spouse. Hamed was arrested while already wounded & then transferred to an undisclosed location. Since his arrest, he has been held in complete isolation, with no contact with his family and no access to legal counsel. Authorities have provided no information about the reasons for his arrest, any charges against him, or where he is being held. Despite repeated inquiries by his family to judicial and security offices in both Tabriz and Qazvin, no institution has accepted responsibility for his detention. Hamed is in fragile physical condition and requires continuous medical care and specific medication for a gunshot wound. His family fears that the denial of treatment and the conditions of his detention could result in permanent disability or even life-threatening consequences. His case underscores the ongoing persecution of Bahá’ís in Iran and raises urgent concerns about arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance, denial of due process, and the violation of fundamental human rights. #Peyvand_Naeimi is a 30-year-old Bahá'í citizen, a swimming and water polo champion, dog trainer and behaviourist from Kerman. Peyvand was arrested on January 8 and was shown on state TV giving forced confessions. He faces imminent danger after enduring two mock hangings, prolonged torture and interrogation, as Iranian authorities attempt to force him to confess to crimes he did not commit. Mock executions are severe forms of mental torture and are banned under international law. Peyvand was arrested on 8 January on false charges of instigating unrest during the January protests and was taken to an IRGC detention centre—known for its torture and mistreatment of detainees. #StopExecutionsInIran #پیوند_نعیمی

According to information obtained by IranWire, agents of the Islamic Republic’s Ministry of Intelligence arrested a 31-year-old Baha’i citizen named Shayan Abadi in the city of Kerman on the evening of Monday, March 23, and transferred him to an unknown location. The Baha’i Faith is Iran’s largest non-Muslim religious minority, but it is not officially recognized by the Iranian Constitution. Consequently, Baha’is systematically face discrimination, including being barred from higher education and government jobs, and are frequently arrested on vague national security charges such as “propaganda against the state.” As of the time of this report, there is no information available regarding Shayan Abadi’s place of detention or the specific charges brought against him. In addition to Shayan Abadi, four other Baha’i citizens identified as Shakila Ghasemi, Borna Naeimi, Adib Shahbazpour, and Peyvand Naeimi have also been arrested in Kerman and remain in a state of legal uncertainty. Kerman, located in southeastern Iran, has a long history of Baha’i presence, but the community there has faced intensified pressure in recent years. “Legal uncertainty” (or belataklifi) is a common tactic used by the Iranian judiciary, where detainees are held for weeks or months without formal charges or access to a lawyer. Meanwhile, the Baha’i International Community (BIC), the organization representing the faith at the United Nations, had previously issued a statement expressing grave concern over the situation of Peyvand Naeimi. According to this statement, Peyvand Naeimi has been in detention for over two months and is being pressured to provide a forced confession. She is currently being held in solitary confinement. Forced confessions are a hallmark of the Iranian judicial system, where detainees are often coerced under physical or psychological duress to “admit” to espionage or anti-state activities. These recorded confessions are frequently aired on state television to justify harsh sentencing.

🔴According to a statement released by the Baha’i International Community (BIC), #PeyvandNaimi was arrested on January 8 on false charges of instigating unrest for his participation in the January protests. While in prison Naimi has been subjected to torture, including enduring two mock hangings - a form of psychological torture which is prohibited under international law. He was also pressured into making a false confession, which was broadcast on State TV. 🔸Peyvand Naimi is currently being held in solitary confinement in Kerman Prison. Peyvand Naimi has not been afforded his due process rights, including a trial, sentence, nor provided with evidence to justify the false charges behind his arrest, according to BIC. 🔸Furthermore, his charges are marred with serious contradictions, including the IRGC alleging that Peyvand Naimi was involved in an attack against Basij forces on the evening of January 8hours AFTER he had already been detained, among other issues. #IranProtest
