The state’s duty is to wield the sword for justice, not surrender it to perversion. "Would that be a person dressed as Superman who goes to the public library?" Brooks-Jiminez asked. "If his genitals are hanging out, then yes. If he's waving his rear in front of the children at a library, then yes. If he's just dressed up and going to read a clean book, then that would not be under the definition of what's harmful to minors,” Deevers said.

Recently, much confusion has been sown online regarding the scope of Senate Bill 593, a bill to increase the penalties for child sexual abuse material and prohibit pornography in Oklahoma. Nothing in this bill would or is intended to prohibit romance novels. The bill is clear that only "visual depictions" of pornography are being prohibited. Nothing in this bill indicates anything otherwise. Words on a page will not be prohibited. Some have said that banning pornography is a "slippery slope" to banning books. No. The slippery slope is what we have allowed the sexual revolution to get away with to the point that 50% of children are now exposed to hardcore pornography by age 12. It's time to start pushing back up the slope. Pornography is only ever degenerate material that destroys marriages, destroys lives, steals the innocence of the young, and fuels human trafficking and abuse. It is soul-corrupting and a corrosive acid to the moral fabric of society, all while having no redeeming value whatsoever.
