I’ve also been experimenting with this, and I can confirm that if your CMOS battery dies, any digital game with the timer becomes unplayable again, even if the console is set as the primary. This is a digital game I purchased with money yesterday. I didn’t claim it with PS Plus.

do you understand what happened to PlayStation yesterday.. They quietly turned your game purchases into a 30-day subscription. No announcement.. No warning.. You didn't rent it.. You BOUGHT it. → Every new PSN purchase now has a 30-day validation timer → Timer hits zero = game locked → CMOS battery dies = game locked → No internet for a month = game locked → Even FREE demos have the timer now Game bought March 2nd? No timer. Works forever.. Game bought April 24th? Expires May 24th.. They didn't patch a bug. They shipped this on purpose. Digital ownership just died. They didn't even tell you.

PS5 Digital Game Lockout Results: - You will be locked out of FULLY purchased (not PS+) games that were purchased after March 2026 if you cannot connect to Sony's servers to restore the licenses. + This is not retroactive, meaning you CAN launch games that were purchased pre-March 2026

Hugely terrible DRM has now been rolled out to all PS4 and PS5 digital games. Every digital game you buy now requires an online check-in every 30 days. If you buy a digital game and don't connect your console to the internet for 30 days, your license will be removed.

We're teaming up again as we continue to make Game Pass more flexible for our players. Some of you might start to see some code in the wild, and we will share more details with you all soon!

Pero luego dicen que Steam es un "Monopolio" 😂

Air Riders and Pokémon Wind and Waves being Switch 2 exclusives is not "Nintendo scamming you with a $450 game", it's called a console being a console.
