The Uneed Residency starts tomorrow, and we already have A BIG NEWS: Codex is on board!! In exactly 1 week, I’ll join the Uneed Residency with 14 other indie hackers. 7 days in the same place. One mission: build and grow our projects. For me, that means going all in on Beplan: 👉 A complete UI rework 👉 Full time work on the V2 👉 Working on SEO and marketing 👉 Maybe managing Beplan’s social accounts 👉 A new project linked to Beplan for creators and agencies I want to make this week count! And I'll share the journey here!

oh boy I tried logging into beplan again to check when I can schedule my drafts but either I magically forgot my login or they deleted my account because it showed me the onboarding screens again with 0 drafts 💀

I'm having quite the opposite result. I have Freemium with Beplan and: - Support tickets aren't spammed by freemium - I implemented every feedbacks i received no matter if they paid or not and now people are really happy about the platform - I have more people talking about it and referring it

I tried freemium with FeedHive. Then again with LinkDrip. ...Then again with Aidbase (cause I'm kinda stupid apparently). Everytime thinking that THIS time it's different. It's not. Freemium works in very few isolated cases - in almost all other cases it will attract freeriders and poisen your analytics, completely jam your support channels, and you'll get "feedback" from users who were never gonna pay. With all 3 products, I eventually changed it. Bunch of people cried every time and then conversions spiked hard. - Free trial. - Paywall. - Study signal ONLY from paying users. That's the way.

No one making real money is doing freemium. Stop letting users skip your paywall. Install a hard paywall with a free trial: · User can't access app without starting trial · Force the decision upfront · 3-7 day free trial + yearly subscription No “let them try, they will come back if they like it” They won’t. With a hard paywall my conversion went from 2% to 27%. Freemium = zero revenue. Hard paywall = real business.
